(VRC4/6/7 are the ones that use M2 to emulate a scanline counter, and they can be configured without their prescalar, so there's no point in excluding them from this category...)

Mappers in this category have the ability to schedule an IRQ an arbitrary and continuously-adjustable number of CPU cycles in the future. Mappers with a fixed delay (even if clocked by M2) don't count; nor do ones that use M2 to simulate a scanline counter.
